A&T Tops Gannon To Open 2015 Season

FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State acrobatics & tumbling team opened the 2015 season with a 264.81-248.37 victory over Gannon University at Joe Retton Arena on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons jumped out to a six-point advantage after two events by winning each of the first seven heats. In the pyramid, however, Gannon won two of the three heats and won the event, 28-55-27.95.

FSU rolled in the toss heats, winning the event 27.10-20.05 and then edged the Knights, 52.00-51.65 in tumbling. The Falcons closed out the victory with a score of 90.71 in the team routine compared to an 87.47 for GU. Fairmont State lost just five heats in the victory.

Fairmont State will return to action on Sunday, February 22 when they host Adrian College at 2 p.m.
