PHILIPPI, W.Va. – The Fairmont State Acrobatics & Tumbling Team used a strong performance in the pyramid and tumbling events to edge Alderson Broaddus, 264.295-259.195, on Tuesday night at Rex Pyles Arena.
After Alderson Broaddus won the compulsory (37.05-37.00) and acro (28.80-28.35) events, Fairmont State jumped ahead at the half (94.65-94.10) after winning the pyramid heats by more than a point (29.30-28.25).
Alderson Broaddus took its third event of the meet by winning the toss, 27.05-27.00. However, Fairmont State extended its slim lead by finishing the tumbling event with a 51.175-47.625 advantage. The Falcons then won the team routine, 91-47-90.42, and wrapped up the 264.295-259.195 victory to improve to 3-0 on the season.
FSU will now prepare for a trip to defending National Champion, Oregon, and Hawaii Pacific on March 16 and 19.
