FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Baylor University collected eight of the 15 individual event national titles on Thursday afternoon at Joe Retton Arena to kick-off the 2015 National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association National Championships.
The Bears earned five of their eight titles in tumbling and also collected hardware in the Acro 5 Element, Pyramid Heat 1 and Pyramid Heat 2. The NCATA most-outstanding athlete, Kiara Nowlin was a member of five of the events for Baylor.
The University of Oregon nabbed four of the remaining seven titles, including the remaining tumbling heat, Acro 6 Element and two of the three toss heats.
Alderson Broaddus (Acro 7 Element), Hawaii Pacific (Pyramid Heat 3) and Quinnipiac (Toss Heat 3) were crowned with the remaining event championships.
The hosts Falcons were represented during the event finals by two different groups.

Whitney Layton competed in the Acro 5 Element while
Sydney Fisher,
Allison Rogers,
Brooke Shambaugh,
Haley Cochran,
Siarra Shoff,
Courtney Stack,
Victoria Simon and
Makenzie Adamek were in Pyramid Heat 3.
