PRINCETON, W.Va. -- Fairmont State pitchers Tyler Kincaid and Nick Mayle earned All-WVIAC honorable mention honors, the league announced on Thursday.
Kincaid, a junior left-handed pitcher from Elkton, Md., went 5-4 on the year with a 4.06 ERA. He started 12 games and pitched a team-high 68.2 innings striking out a team-best 65 batters. He tossed a pair of complete games, including one shutout, and held teams to two or fewer earned runs in eight of his starts.
Mayle, a sophomore lefty from Grafton, W.Va., made a team-high 14 appearances in relief for the Falcons posting an ERA of 2.01. He posted a 3-1 record and notched three saves. He struck out 24 batters and allowed opponents batted just .224 against him.
Fairmont State finished the regular season with a record of 21-26 and finished fourth in the WVIAC North with an 18-17 league mark.
Shepherd’s Nathan Minnich was named the WVIAC Player of the Year while Seton Hill’s Alex Haines was voted the WVIAC Pitcher of the Year. The Griffins’ Marc Marizzaldi garnered WVIAC Coach of the Year accolades as voted on by league coaches.
