PRINCETON, W. Va. -- WV Wesleyan’s Mark Darlington has been named the WVIAC Player of the Week while Aaron Adams of WV Wesleyan and Tyler Kincaid of Fairmont State have been named the WVIAC co-Pitchers of the Week, as announced by the league office.
Darlington, a 6’2” senior right fielder and first baseman from Martinsburg, W. Va., registered a standout week. He batted .632 while leading the Bobcats to a 5-0 record. Darlington was 12-for-19 at the plate with six RBI. He also crossed home five times. Darlington pounded out four doubles and a homer. In the field, he had 44 putouts and three assists without making an error.
Adams, a 5’9” junior hurler from Crooksville, Ohio, went 2-0 on the week for the Bobcats. He worked seven innings in each game and gave up just six hits on the week. He allowed one run while striking out six. He has helped WV Wesleyan secure a large lead on the South Division of the WVIAC standings.
Kincaid, a junior left-handed pitcher from Elkton, Md., worked a complete game shutout against West Liberty, allowing just three hits in the contest. He struck out nine and did not allow a walk. Against Glenville State earlier in the week, Kincaid worked two scoreless innings of relief. He struck out 10 batters on the week and held opponents to a .107 batting average.
