PRINCETON, W.Va. -- Fairmont State sophomore pitcher Ryan Fenwick was named WVIAC Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
Fenwick, a sophomore hurler from Leonardtown, Md., needed just 66 pitches in his one-hit shutout performance over the sixth-ranked Griffins. He snapped the 19-game winning streak of the Griffins, taking a no-hitter into the sixth frame. For the day, Fenwick faced just three over the minimum, induced two double plays and allowed just one runner to reach third in the game.
Shepherd's Nathan Minnich was named Player of the Week for the fifth time this season.
