PRINCETON, W. Va. -- Fairmont State freshman Carly Mundie has been named WVIAC Player of the Week for her efforts. Mundie helped lead FSU to a 5-1 week, including a perfect 4-0 in WVIAC play. She is the third FSU player to earn WVIAC player of the week honors this season.
The second baseman from Pittsburgh, Pa., went 9-of-19 (.474) with four hits going for extra bases (two home runs and two doubles). Mundie also added a team-high nine RBI, five runs scored and had a slugging percentage of .895.
Mundie had a 3-for-3 day in a non-conference game at Point Park, including a two-run home run against the Pioneers. She then went on to hit a two-run double to spark an eight-run first inning against Wheeling Jesuit. She followed that up with a two-run homer against the Cardinals in the second game of a doubleheader. In the two wins over West Liberty, Mundie went 4-for-7 with a double and two RBI.
Mundie and the Falcons will be back in action against Shepherd on Wednesday evening.
