VIENNA, W.Va. -- WV Wesleyan's Jacqueline Omichinski pitched a two-hit complete game shutout to lead the Bobcats to a 1-0 victory over the Falcons in the second round of the WVIAC Tournament in Vienna, W.Va.
Chelsea Cobb pitched seven strong innings for the Falcons allowing just three hits in the game and giving up one unearned run. She struck out four and walked two. Holly Frampton and Abbey Wilson recorded the only hits for FSU.
The Bobcats scored their lone run in the fifth inning after a one-out walk and a double from Emily Bennett put two runners in scoring position. An error then allowed the run from third to score before Conn induced the final two outs to limit the damage.
FSU's best chance came in the top of the sixth inning with runners on first and second with one out, but Omichinski got a groundout and a strikeout to end the opportunity for FSU.
Fairmont State will now play in the consolation bracket tomorrow at noon.
