Falcons Take Seventh At WVIAC Championships

ATHENS, W.Va. -- Fairmont State freshman Scott Treadway earned second team All-WVIAC honors by finishing 18th and helped lead the Falcons to a seventh-place finish at the WVIAC Championships held at Pipestem State Park on Saturday.

Seton Hill (44) edged Wheeling Jesuit (45) for the conference championship, followed by WV Wesleyan (50), Concord (130), Alderson-Broaddus (143), Glenville State (201) and Fairmont State (205). The Falcons finished in front of Ohio Valley (206), Davis & Elkins (232), West Liberty (242) and Bluefield State (347).

Treadway finished the 8k course in 27:54.84. Jacob Lafferre took 29th (28:40), followed by Jobey Knapton in 36th (29:17), Austin McFee in 58th (31:48.31) and Logan Moore in 64th (32:54.69). Kenny Burnley finished in 68th with a time of 34:24.23.

Fairmont State will now compete in the NCAA Atlantic Regionals at Slippery Rock on Nov. 19.
