Falcons Cruise Past Rams, 3-0

FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State defeated Shepherd, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Joe Retton Arena. The Falcons took all three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 26-24.

The Falcons improved to 7-5 overall and 2-0 in the WVIAC. Shepherd fell to 4-8 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

"I am really proud of our girls for playing very well against a very talented Shepherd team," coach Larry Hill said. "We showed that we can keep our composure in tight games and respond."

Amber Wilson led the way for the Falcons with 10 kills and a pair of solo blocks. Bri Swann added seven kills and 10 digs for the Falcons. Leslie Giordon recorded six kills in just one set of action for FSU. Tabbie Bias tallied 35 assists and Tiff Smathers led the way with 14 digs. Erin Harwood also chipped in 13 digs for the Falcons.

The Falcons will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Pitt-Johnstown. The start time is slated for 7 p.m.
