Falcons Pick Up Pair Of Wins

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Fairmont State picked up a pair of non-conference wins on Saturday picking up 3-0 victories over both Kutztown and Shippensburg.

With the wins, Fairmont State moved its record to 10-5 on the year.

FSU used a balanced attack to sweep Kutztown, 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 30-28). The Falcons got 11 kills apiece from Bri Swann, Kaitlyn Witsaman and Amber Wilson. Tabbie Bias again directed the offense with 35 assists. Swann led FSU with 13 digs and Tiff Smathers added 12.

Swann turned in a dominant performance to pace the Falcons to another 3-0 sweep over Shippensburg (25-15, 25-17, 25-17). Swann had 14 kills and just three errors in the match. Leslie Giordan contributed nine kills and three total blocks, and Wilson notched seven kills and three total blocks. Bias led FSU with 33 assists and Smathers recorded a match-high 25 digs for the Falcons.

FSU will return to action on Monday with a non-conference matchup at Point Park.
