Fairmont State Rolls Past WVWC

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Fairmont State dropped just two matches on its way to a 7-2 win over West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday.

The Falcons swept all three doubles matches with Brittany Shumate and Kayla Semon narrowly winning in a tiebreaker, 9-8 (7-5).

Goldie Preston, Taylor Nichols, Erin McKown and Kari Simms each won in straight sets in singles play. McKown needed a first set tiebreaker over Somi Jeong, 7-6 (7-2), to propel her to victory.

Fairmont State will be back in action on Wednesday at Davis & Elkins.
