EUCLID, Ohio -- Fairmont State defeated Notre Dame College 3-1 and Ursuline 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in Euclid. Fairmont State took the first set against NDC, 25-17. NDC rebounded in set two by the score of 25-22. The Falcons wrapped up the match with victories in the third and fourth sets by the scores of 25-23 and 25-22 to defeat Notre Dame College. The Falcons swept Ursuline (25-23, 25-18, 25-9) to wrap up the afternoon.
The Falcons have won 11-straight matches and are 17-5 on the season.
In the first match of the day against Notre Dame College, Bri Swann recorded a double-double with 22 kills and 11 digs. Amber Wilson added 16 kills and three block assists. Kaitlyn Witsaman also had double-digit kills with 13 in the match. Tiff Smathers led the way with 20 digs and Jess Margo tallied 49 assists.
Against Ursuline, Swann recorded her second double-double of the day with 12 kills and 16 digs. Kara Crabill chipped in seven kills for FSU. Leslie Giordon led the Falcons with four blocks (one solo and three assisted) in the match. Margo once again led the way with 39 assists and Smathers tallied 22 digs.
The Falcons will look to extend their winning streak to 12 games against Wheeling Jesuit on Wednesday evening in Wheeling. The match will begin at 7 p.m.
