BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Fairmont State senior Kathryn Saurborn secured All-America honors for the second-straight season by finishing third in the 50 free at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday night at the CrossPlex Complex.
Saurborn, a native of Fairmont, W.Va., was seeded third heading into the finals after her preliminary swim on Wednesday morning. She then posted a personal best time of 22.99 in the finals to take third place. Tamiris Nascimento from Incarnate Word won the event with a time of 22.76, followed closely by Julie Widmann of Ashland with a time of 22.79.
Saurborn will also compete in the 100 fly and 100 free at the NCAA Championships. FSU's David Dent also qualified for the NCAA Championships and will be swimming the 200 free and 100 free this week.
