Joe Lambiotte served as the sports information director from 1980-85. During his time, Joe was a three-time WVIAC Football SID of the Year and two-time WVIAC Basketball SID of the Year. His basketball media guides finished second, sixth and ninth in the NAIA while his football media guides finished sixth, third and eighth.
While serving as the sports information director, he also coached the women's basketball team from 1980-84 where he complied an 87-43 record. The team won its first-ever title in 1984 when he was named WVIAC Coach of the Year. Over that span, the team had two 20-win seasons with also the first All-American in women's basketball history (Vicki Huffman).
In 1985, he took over the men's basketball program through 1989 with an overall record of 61-52. In the 1987-88 season, the team went 20-9 and coached First Team All-WVIAC honorees Elvin Addison and Brian Tristani.
