FAIRMONT, W.Va. –
Top-seeded and No. 3-ranked Fairmont State advanced to the NCAA Division II "Sweet 16" on Sunday evening with an 84-68 win over Indiana (PA) at Joe Retton Arena.

The win sets up an all Mountain East Conference showdown in the 2017 Atlantic Regional Final as Fairmont State will host sixth-seeded Wheeling Jesuit on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. WJU earned a spot in the final by picking up a 97-91 win over second-seeded Shippensburg in Sunday's first semifinal.

Fairmont State (31-2) used a 13-2 run late in the first half, capped by a huge three by D'Ondre Stockman, to allow the Falcons to take a double-digit lead into the locker room (37-26).

Early in the second half with FSU leading by 14 (49-35), following a dunk by Trevor Andrews-Evans, IUP responded with an 8-0 spurt over the next two minutes to cut the margin to just six, 49-43, at the 13:23 mark.

After the teams traded baskets on the next two possession, the margin stayed at seven for two and a half minutes before a three by Malik Miller made the score 52-48 with just over 10 minutes remaining.

However, a 7-0 run allowed FSU to push the lead back to double digits and IUP failed to get closer than eight the rest of the way. The Falcons led by as many as 19 in the closing minute before settling for an 84-68 win.

Matt Bingaya once again led the Falcons with 20 points and five rebounds, going 9-of-11 from the free throw line. Jason Jolly chipped in 18 and Stockman added 12 for FSU, as the pair combined for seven of Fairmont's nine threes. Thomas Wimbush also reached double-figures with 10.

Jacobo Diaz (17) and Miller (15) paced IUP in the loss. Dante Lombardi, who scored a career-high 26 points and passed out 12 assists in Saturday's opening round, was limited to just five points on 1-of-15 from the field. Lombardi did pass out a team-high nine assists.

FSU held a 45-35 advantage on the glass, including a 26-15 edge in the opening half.
