Lexington, VA-- Wrestling faced off with D1 VMI and DIII Shenandoah today at Virginia Military Institute. They started off the day battling with VMI and battled hard against a division one team. 197 Aydan Edwards almost pulled off an impressive win but fell in sudden victory OT 8-6. They then turned their attention quickly to Shenandoah, after dropping the first match at 141 Freshman Kolton Parsons made his debut and had impressive 5-3 victory to even the team score. 157 Navid Ighani won a tough battle and got a buzzer beater takedown to win 3-1 to make the score 6-3 Fairmont State. 165 Jude Childers kept the team rolling getting a win by fall to make the team score 12-3. After dropping the 174 match by decision your Fighting Falcons went on a tear winning the next 5 matches to close out the dual. 184 Austin Gibson, 197 Aydan Edwards and 285 Mason Atkinson all won by fall to make the team score 30-5. Closing out the dual meet 125 Brandan Myers secured a solid decision and 133 Nate Pelesky had a dominant 11-2 major decision win to close out the dual meet. Your Fighting Falcons won 8 of the 10 matches and won by a final score of 37-5. 

The Wrestling team is back in action tomorrow morning at the Cougar Duals at Averett University. Action starts at 9:00 AM and will be live streaming the matches on their Facebook Page.
