Women's Golf Currently Third after First Round at MEC Championship

DANIELS, W.Va. — Fairmont State University's women's golf team currently sits in third-place at the 2025 MEC Men's Golf Championship after the opening round at The Resort at Glade Springs.

Emerson Simons paced the Falcons with an opening round 85 (+13) and is tied for 11th. Marra Johnson is just two shots back of her counterpart with an 87 (+15) and is tied for 13th.

Gianna Koski was next lowest Falcon as she is tied for 24th. Kaily Banal and Lanae rounded out the lineup as they sit tied for 28th and 32nd, respectively.

Charleston leads the team standings at +34, followed by Glenville State at +41. Charleston's Mari Filippa Larsen holds the individual lead with a 77 (+5).

The championship continues Tuesday with the second round of the 54-hole event on the par-72 Glade Springs course.
