INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Fairmont State University wrestling team opened the first day of the 46th annual Midwest Classic hosted by the University of Indianapolis.
Colton Stoneking started his day against Tanner Arjes from Upper Iowa and picked up a 17-2 technical fall. In the second round, Stoneking defeated Koltyn Grebel by a 9-2 decision.
In his final match of the day, Stoneking battled Collin Twigg from Grand Valley State. Despite trailing since the middle of the second period, Stoneking pulled off an escape before a takedown in the final 15 seconds to earn a 5-4 victory to advance to the quarterfinals.
