FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State University Head Swim Coach Patrick Snively has announced the addition of four coaches to the Falcon Swimming staff for the 2025–26 season. The additions include accomplished alumni and experienced individuals who will provide additional support to the program in their return to the deck.
"I am extremely pleased to welcome these highly qualified individuals back to Fairmont State and to our coaching staff," said Snively. "Each coach brings a strong background, different perspectives, a commitment to helping our program excel, and a deep connection to Fairmont State. Their knowledge and leadership will help provide invaluable guidance to our student-athletes and support to me as I come back to the deck full-time."
Nathan Fubio returns for his third season on staff following a distinguished career as a five-year member of the Falcon swim team, where he served as a team captain and two-time school record-holder. Fubio is a graduate of Fairmont State with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and an MBA. Coach Fubio will work primarily with the Sprint group. Fubio works as a financial analyst at MVB Bank and resides in Clarksburg with his wife, Anna, and their dog, Barkly.
Kayla Fogle, a four-year member of the program and member of the all-time Top 10 list in the 200 butterfly, joins the staff after serving as a graduate assistant at Salem University during the 2024–25 season. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Fairmont State and is currently completing a Master's in Educational Leadership at Salem University, with graduation anticipated in November. Fogle will focus on Stroke and Individual Medley swimmers. She resides in Morgantown with her boyfriend, Dylan, and their dog, Bruce.
Alex Petry brings extensive experience back to the program, having previously served as an assistant coach at Fairmont State from 2016–2023. A former four-year Falcon swimmer and pool record-holder, he holds both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an MBA from Fairmont State and currently serves as the Executive Director of Main Street Fairmont. Petry will assist primarily with Stroke and Sprint training. A Marion County native, Petry resides in Downtown Fairmont.
Dr. Ashley Yelinek, a two-time Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) champion in the 1650 freestyle at Bloomsburg University, also re-joins the staff. Yelinek earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lake Erie College and serves as a Primary Care Sports Medicine physician at United Hospital Center. Her coaching background includes nine years as an assistant at Fairmont State (2013–2022) and prior experience coaching high school swimming in Pennsylvania. Dr. Yelinek will support the Distance group. Yelinek resides in Bridgeport, W.Va.
"Bringing back individuals that have ties to our program and know our mission reflects our commitment to honoring the strong tradition of our program and sharing a growth mindset that will set us up for success this season and beyond. It is truly a blessing to be back on deck with these folks," added Snively.
The Falcons begin the 2025–26 season with a relay meet at the Bridge in Bridgeport on Saturday, September 27.
