HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University men's and women's cross country teams started the 2026 season at the Marshall University Invitational. Both teams placed fourth overall in the event.

For the men, Donovan Tanouye led the way as he placed eighth with a time of 15:31.9 which set a new personal record in the 5,000-meter race. Noah McCollam was the next Falcon to cross the line as he hit the line in 16:06.5 to take home 16th.

Adrian Bott (16:59.0), Carter Sias (17:16.9) and Lynk Suesli (17:35.5) rounded out the scoring five for Fairmont State. Another notable run for the Falcons was Taylor Hohman as he set a new personal record in 5,000.

On the women's side, Megan Mitchell earned 10th with a personal best in 5,000-meter race with a time of 19:17.8. Mikaela DeMoss crossed the line right behind Mitchell with a time of 19:30.5.

Kayla Baker brought home 28th (21:13.3) while Clare Woodring (21:24.7) and Bentlee Williams (22:54.6) finished 32nd and 39th, respectively. In the race, Reagan Raffo set a new personal record for the distance.

Fairmont State returns to the course on Saturday, September 19 for the South Regional Preview in Charlottesville, Virginia.
