Bailey Long joined the Fairmont State University athletic training staff in July 2022 and provides comprehensive care and support for Fighting Falcons student-athletes. She also serves as a Certified Athletic Trainer for Marion County Schools, working with Fairmont Senior High School boys’ and girls’ lacrosse, and continues seasonal work with the West Virginia Black Bears of the MLB Draft League.
In the summer of 2025, Long was selected to serve as an athletic trainer for Best Virginia during The Basketball Tournament (TBT), where she provided care to former West Virginia University standouts competing on a national stage.
Prior to Fairmont State, Long spent three years with HealthWorks Rehab & Fitness, where she worked with middle and high school athletes throughout Marion and Monongalia counties while also covering outreach events.
A native of Ohio, Long earned her M.S. in Exercise Science & Health Promotion with concentrations in performance enhancement, injury prevention, and rehabilitation science from California University of Pennsylvania in 2021. She completed her B.S. in Athletic Training at West Virginia University in 2019, gaining extensive clinical experience with Mountaineer football, wrestling, baseball, men’s soccer, cheerleading, and women’s soccer.
Her professional training includes an athletic training internship with Nationwide Children’s Hospital Pediatric Sports Medicine in Columbus, Ohio.
Long holds certifications in Dry Needling, Blood Flow Restriction Therapy, Corrective Exercise, Performance Enhancement, Basic Life Support, and Stop the Bleed Training. She is licensed by the West Virginia Board of Physical Therapy and is an active member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association (MAATA), and the West Virginia Athletic Trainers’ Association (WVATA).
