Mikaylah "Miki" Glenn enters her fifth season as a coach on the Fairmont State women's basketball staff. Glenn was promoted to Associate Head Coach in July of 2023. She joined Stephanie Anderson's staff on May 14, 2019.
Glenn helped design game plans and create scouting reports for the Fighting Falcons over the past four seasons. Fairmont State women’s basketball concluded the 2022-23 campaign with the most wins in program history (23) since the 2012-13 season. Glenn coached Alyssa DeAngelo, who was garnered D2CCA All-Region, All-MEC First Team and MEC All-Tournament Team honors and Katy Darnell, who won the Commissioner's Heart & Hustle Award at the MEC Tournament and claimed All-MEC Second Team honors.
During the COVID-shortened season in the winter and spring of 2021, Glenn helped lead the Falcons to a 7-10 record. Standout Sierra Kotchman earned first team All-MEC honors for the third-consecutive season, and newcomer Alyssa DeAngelo was named the MEC Freshman of the Year.
In her first season with the Fairmont State program, Glenn helped the Falcons to a 15-14 overall record and the No. 6 in the MEC Tournament. Following the season a pair of Falcon standouts earned All-MEC honors, including first-team selection Sierra Kotchman and second-team All-MEC pick Rachel Laskody.
Glenn, a three-time NCAA Division II All-American and a national championship winning point guard at California University of Pennsylvania comes to Fairmont State after serving as an assistant coach for the West Virginia Rampage travel team since February of 2018.
"I am beyond excited to add Miki Glenn to the women's basketball staff at Fairmont State University," said Anderson. "Her passion and knowledge of the game is exactly what I wanted in an assistant coach.
"She is one of the hardest working people I know and is going to be a great addition to the program. Beyond all of the accolades that she received as a player, it's her drive and leadership that will make her great. I couldn't be happier with the staff we have created with Miki and Kelli Jo Harrison returning from last year's staff," Anderson added.
A native of Bridgeport, W.Va., Glenn was a star for four seasons at Cal U, highlighted by leading the Vulcans to a national championship during the 2014-15 season as a sophomore. During that campaign, Glenn was named a WBCA honorable mention All-American, and was tabbed as the Atlantic Region Tournament MVP and a member of the NCAA National Championship All-Tournament Team for her performance during the Elite Eight in Sioux Falls, S.D.
"I'm very thankful for this incredible opportunity to coach at Fairmont State," said Glenn. "I'm excited to work with Steph and the rest of the ladies to build a successful program here in Fairmont."
While at Cal U, Glenn ranked in the top 10 in the country in both assists and steals during her junior and senior seasons, and set a PSAC record for free throws in a single season with 223 during the 2014-15 season.
Glenn left her mark in the Cal U women's basketball record book, ranking fourth all-time in career scoring (2,007), first in made free throws (724), third in steals (352), fourth in assists (575), and ninth in career field goals (595).
In addition to Glenn's postseason honors following Cal U's national championship run during her sophomore season, the point guard also earned first team All-America honors from D2CCA and WBCA as a senior, after being named the Atlantic Region and PSAC West Athlete of the Year for her efforts during the 2016-17 season. As a junior, Glenn was also selected to the WBCA All-America Team and was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Year for the first time.
As a senior, Glenn ranked in the top 25 in the country in scoring, assists, steals and made free throws. She ranked in the top 10 in the country in steals and assists as a junior in 2015-16.
Glenn also served as a basketball instructor for the Nate Smith Basketball School from Nov. 2017 to May 2019, and has volunteered at numerous basketball camps during her playing and coaching career, including the Jarrod West Basketball Camp, West Virginia University Basketball Camp, California (PA) Basketball Camp, and Darcie Vincent Basketball Camp.
As a standout at nearby Bridgeport High School, Glenn helped the Indians to a Class AA State Championship in March of 2013. She was also named the West Virginia State Player of the Year in 2013.
She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from California University of Pennsylvania in May 2017.
