FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Matt Bingaya scored a career-high 30 points and pulled down a team-best seven rebounds to lead No. 10 Fairmont State to a crucial 85-72 in-region victory over Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon at Joe Retton Arena.

With the win, the 10
th-ranked Falcons improve to 8-1 overall while IUP falls to 6-5 on the young season.

Bingaya went 9-of-17 from the field and shot 11-of-11 from the line in the victory.
Chase Connor also reached double-figures, knocking-down six of his 10 three-point attempts to add 18 points for the Falcons.
Jamel Morris also chipped in eight points and passed out five assists.
Shammgod Wells, who didn't attempt a field goal in the game, dished out a team-high seven assists from his point guard position. The Falcons had 18 assists as a team on 28 made field goals.

The Falcons had a perfect performance from the charity-stripe, going 20-of-20, and shot 44.4 percent (28-of-63) from the field. Fairmont State also forced 17 IUP turnovers and scored 19 points off-turnovers in the win. The Falcons turned the ball over just eight times.
Trevor Andrews-Evans had a block-party this afternoon, swatting five IUP shots in the win.

Indiana (PA) shot 39.7 percent (25-of-63) from the field in the loss. However, the 'Hawks struggled from three, making just 4-of-17 attempts. IUP did have a big advantage on the glass, holding a 46-30 rebounding margin. Sixteen of IUP's rebounds were on the offensive end as the 'Hawks scored 20 second-chance points.

Brandon Norfleet led IUP with 25 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field. Jacobo Diaz recorded a double-double for the Crimson Hawks, scoring 17 points and pulling-down 10 boards. Daddy Ugbede also had a big day in the paint for Indiana (PA), scoring 10 points and pulling-down eight rebounds.

The Falcons will be idle until next Saturday when they travel to Winston-Salem State for a 4 p.m. tip in North Carolina.
