FAIRMONT, W.Va. – A goal by Shepherd's Lexi Vondrak at the 7:35 mark of the first half lifted the Rams past Fairmont State, 1-0, on Thursday afternoon.

With the win, Shepherd improves to 2-1-2 overall and 1-1-2 in the Mountain East Conference. Fairmont State slips to 0-5 overall and 0-4 in the league.

Harley Boyd led FSU with three shots and Courtney Webb added two. Shawna Graham recorded eight saves in the FSU net.

The Falcons will travel to Charleston on Sunday to take on the Golden Eagles of Charleston. Start time is set for 1 p.m.
