WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – The Fairmont State women's volleyball team wrapped up the MEC/PSAC Challenge at West Liberty by sweeping Slippery Rock and Kutztown on Saturday.
Fairmont State 3, Slippery Rick 0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) The Falcons had a .264 attacking percentage and were led by
Courtney Kress with 12 kills in Saturday's first victory against The Rock. FSU also got a double-double performance from
Kaitlyn Witsaman with 11 kills and 14 digs while
Mackenzie Harrison chipped in nine kills and 15 digs, just missing a double-double.
Jessica Furda led FSU with 32 assists and libero
Megan Clerico added a team-high 17 digs.
Fairmont State 3, Kutztown 0 (27-25, 25-17, 25-18) In the second match of the day, Witsaman recorded a team-high 16 kills to help FSU split its four matches over the weekend.
Erin Harwood filled the stat sheet for the Falcons with 13 kills, 24 digs and three aces. FSU held an 8-2 advantage in aces in the victory.
Furda passed out 46 assists in the three-set victory and Harrison added 17 digs to go along with seven kills for the Falcons.
