FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State women's basketball team pulled away with a 69-52 victory over Concord by outscoring the Mountain Lions, 27-13, in the third quarter of play.
Makenzie White scored 14 of her points in the third quarter to help the Falcons pull away early in the second half.

With the win, the Falcons improve to 9-3 overall and an even 3-3 in the Mountain East Conference. The Mountain Lions slip to 3-8 overall and 2-4 in the league.

White led the Falcons with 21 points, five rebounds, six assists and four steals in the win. White went 8-of-10 from the field, including 1-of-1 from long range and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. The Falcons also got 15 points and four steals from
Emily Puskarich and
Amanda Ruffner just missed a double-double with 13 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.

The Falcons shot 48.1 percent from the field (25-of-52) and also drained 6-of-13 three-point attempts (46.2%) in the win. FSU also knocked-down 13-of-15 free throw attempts and scored 30 points off 26 Concord turnovers.

In addition to forcing 26 turnovers, the FSU defense also limited Concord to 38 percent from the floor and just 4-of-8 from the line.

The Mountain Lions were led by Kylie Molisee with 12 points and 13 rebounds to record a double-double. CU also got 11 points from Olivia Morgan and Danielle Catron. Lindsey Overbey came off the bench to chip in eight points and a team-high four assists.

FSU will travel to the Charleston Civic Center on Sunday afternoon for a 2 p.m. tip against the Golden Eagles of Charleston.
