INDIANA, Pa. – It took an extra five minutes, but
Jerrod Calhoun and his second-ranked Fairmont State men's basketball team escaped with a 91-81 non-conference victory over Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Monday evening at the Kovalchick Complex, giving Calhoun his 100
th victory as the head coach at Fairmont State (100-35).
With the win, FSU improves to 10-0 on the season and wrapped up a perfect 6-0 mark in non-league play for the 2016-17 season. No. 17-ranked IUP falls to 9-2 on the season.
At the 8:53 mark of the second half, the Falcons held a 12-point lead (66-54) but were facing severe foul trouble, as

Despite the foul trouble, the Falcons still maintained a double-digit lead (73-63) at the 4:26 mark of the second half, before a pair of free throws by Devon Cottrell and a three by Anthony Glover on back-to-back possessions cut the FSU lead to just five (73-68) at the 2:34 mark of the second half.
The Falcons were held without a field goal for the final 4:26 of regulation, as the only points for FSU in the closing minutes came from free throws by
Vonte Montgomery and

The Falcons then outscored IUP 16-6 in the overtime period, including the first five points, to put the game away with a final score of 91-81. Jolly score eight of Fairmont's 16 points in overtime.
