FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State jumped out to a commanding 20-2 lead at the midway point of the first quarter and never looked back in a 95-69 victory over Concord on Thursday evening at Joe Retton Arena.

With the win, FSU improves to 11-8 overall and 8-5 in the Mountain East Conference, including a 9-2 mark at home this season. CU slips to 2-15 overall and 1-12 in league games.

For the second-consecutive game, FSU had one of its seniors go over 1,000 career points, today it was
Makenzie White, who finished the day with 26 points and nine rebounds. White doubled the 13 points that she needed entering the game to reach the 1,000-point mark. In addition, White added four assists to also crack the top 10 in all-time assists in FSU history.

The Falcons also got 23 points and eight rebounds from
Amanda Ruffner, 14 points and four steals from
Emily Puskarich and 10 points from
Kelli Jo Harrison.

The Falcons out-rebounded the Mountain Lions 43-30 and shot 50 percent from the floor in the win. Concord was held to just 41.7 percent from the field and also turned the ball over 17 times, which turned into 30 FSU points on the opposite end.

Emily Boothe netted 19 points for Concord, draining a trio of three-pointers. Alley Odell notched 15 points and Danielle Catron added 13. Lindsey Overbey rounded out the double-digit performers for the Mountain Lions with 10 points in the setback.

FSU will now prepare for a 2 p.m. tip against UVa-Wise on Saturday afternoon from Joe Retton Arena. The Falcons will be looking to avenge a 62-54 loss to the Cavs earlier this season on the road.
