Harrison Becomes School's All-Time Leader In Kills

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Fairmont State wrapped up the regular season with a pair of 3-1 road victories over Glenville State (24-26, 25-16, 25-10, 25-15) and West Virginia Wesleyan (25-15, 25-27, 25-13, 25-17), give the Falcons a 21-10 overall record, and an 11-5 mark in league play heading into this week's Mountain East Conference Tournament.
 
With Mackenzie Harrison's performance during the final weekend of the season (23 kills vs. GSC and 24 kills vs. WVWC), the senior right-side hitter out  of Twinsburg, Ohio, became the all-time school leader in kills with 1,952.

Harrison broke Natasha Ross' record of 1,930 kills, which has stood atop the FSU volleyball record book since the 2001 season. In addition, Harrison's season total of 694 kills is also a program record for a single season.

Harrison continues to lead NCAA Division II in kills per set (5.88), points per set (6.53), total attacks (1,746) and total kills (694).
 
In Friday's victory over Glenville State (0-24, 0-15), Emma Mobley also chipped in double-digit kills with 13 in the victory. Jessica Furda helped lead the FSU offense with 31 assists and 10 digs, splitting time with Alexa Gore (25 assists) in the match.
 
Megan Clerico (16) and Harrison (15) also chipped in double-figure digs in the match.
 
In Saturday's season finale against WV Wesleyan (12-19), Harrison also chipped in 14 digs to go with her team-high 24 kills – which made her the school's all-time leader. Mobley helped pace the FSU offense in the match with 15 kills to go along with 17 digs. Clerico once again recorded a team-best 21 digs in the victory.
 
Jessica Furda (31) and Alexa Gore (21) paced the FSU offense in the win.
 
The Falcons have earned the No. 4 seed in this week's Mountain East Conference Tournament in Wheeling, and will now prepare for a 5 p.m. matchup with fifth-seeded Urbana on Thursday evening.
