SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Fairmont State and Shepherd battled to a scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon at the SU Soccer Complex in Shepherdstown.

The draw is the third of the season for the Falcons and snaps a three-game skid for the Falcons. Fairmont State is now 6-4-3 overall and 4-3-2 in Mountain East Conference action. Shepherd is now 4-6-3 overall and 3-3-3 in MEC play.

The game was evenly match offensively, with Fairmont State holding a slim 8-7 advantage in shots on goal.

In the second overtime period,
Ella Wilson fired a shot in the 103
rd minute that was saved by Shepherd's Meghan Byers to keep the game alive. Just 57 seconds later,
Abigail Fowler had another solid scoring opportunity for the Falcons, but it was once again turned away by Byers. Fowler's shot at the 103:17 mark was the final shot of the game by either team.

Fairmont State also had four shot attempts in the final 12 minutes of regulation, two of which were saved by Byers.

Isabelle Vaccari (6-4-3) recorded her sixth complete shutout of the season after recording seven saves against Shepherd.

Abigail Johnson and Fowler each recorded a pair of shots on goal to pace the Fairmont State offense this afternoon.

Sarah Harvey and Wilson also provided scoring chances for the Falcons.

Fairmont State will return to action on Wednesday evening with a 3 p.m. MEC matchup against West Liberty on the road.
