FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State shot 58 percent from the field and scored 55 points in the opening half of Thursday's Mountain East Conference matchup with Urbana, rolling to a 93-79 victory to extend its home winning streak to 34 games.

Fairmont State made 15 three-pointers for the second-consecutive game and also dominated the glass in the victory (37-23).

Fairmont State has now won nine of its last 10 games, improving to 16-5 overall and 12-3 in the league. Urbana falls to 3-17 overall and 2-13 in league play.

Kenzie Melko led the Falcons with 18 points and six rebounds in the victory. Melko went 5-of-7 from the field and 1-of-2 from behind the arc.
Jason Jolly and
D'Ondre Stockman each made four three-pointers in the victory, scoring 16 and 14 points, respectively.
R.J. Hutcherson rounded out four FSU players in double-figures with 11.
The Falcons also got nine points and six assists from
Andrew Emrick, seven points from
Cole VonHandorf and six points and a team-high eight rebounds from
Caleb Davis.

Fairmont State scored 26 points off turnovers and had 19 second-chance points in the win.

Malik Jacobs did a bulk of Urbana's damage with a game-high 29 points, four rebounds and three steals. Carlas Jackson also reached double-figures for the Blue Knights with 12.

As a team, the Blue Knights shot 52.5 percent from the floor (32-of-61) with eight three-pointers.

FSU will now prepare for a Saturday showdown with Notre Dame College, beginning at 4 p.m. inside Joe Retton Arena.
