CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- After battling through 15 ties and 10 lead changes, sixth-seeded Concord outlasted third-seeded Fairmont State, 89-84, on Friday afternoon in the semifinal round of the Mountain East Conference Men's Basketball Tournament at the Charleston Civic Center.

Concord's Tommy Bolte turned in a record-breaking performance by scoring 51 points to go with eight rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots. Bolte set multiple MEC records on the afternoon, including single-game scoring record, single-game tournament scoring record and single-game field goals in a MEC tournament game.

With today's victory, the Mountain Lions advance to face second-seeded Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday evening in the MEC semifinal round.

Fairmont State (21-8) got a team-high 20 points, four rebounds and three steals from
Vonte Montgomery.
R.J. Hutcherson also chipped in 14 points, draining 4-of-5 shots from behind the arc.Â
Jason Jolly (12),
Andrew Emrick (11) and
Cole VonHandorf (10) also reached double figures for the Falcons.

Fairmont State shot 44.1 percent from the field and made 13 three-pointers on the afternoon. The margin in the game was one-possession for most of the day, with the largest lead by both teams being just seven points.

Concord (17-12) shot 50 percent from the field, despite making just 4-of-21 attempts from behind the arc (19.0%). Bolte made all but 13 of Concord's shots.

Today's setback will likely end the career of two Fairmont State seniors,
Caleb Davis and
D'Ondre Stockman.

Davis wraps up his five-year career with 1,020 points, 527 rebounds, 246 assists and 139 steals. Davis is the 48
th player in school history to go over 1,000 career points.

Stockman, who played two seasons at Fairmont State after transferring from Division III Marymount, scored 701 points and made 159 three-pointers in just two seasons with the Falcons. Stockman ranks fifth in school history in made three-pointers.
