FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Fairmont State women's soccer program set a new single-season record for wins with its 1-0 shutout of Urbana on Sunday afternoon at Duvall-Rosier Field. The win gives Fairmont State the season sweep over Urbana as the Falcons also defeated the Blue Knights, 3-1, on the road back on Sept. 5.

The win helped Fairmont State improve to 6-1-2 overall and 4-0-1 in Mountain East Conference play. UU slips to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in league play.

Abigail Johnson provided the only goal of the day in a game that featured just five shots on goal, two by Fairmont State and three by Urbana. Johnson's goal came in the 39th minute with an assist from Ella Wilson and Abigail Fowler.

Isabelle Vaccari (6-1-2) recorded her sixth shutout of the season in the Fairmont State net after recording three saves to keep the Blue Knights off the board.

The six shutouts in the season for Fairmont State is also a program record.

Fairmont State, who sits in first place in the MEC North standings with 16 points, will take on NDC in a crucial divisional matchup on Thursday at 4 p.m. in South Euclid.
