WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. -- Fairmont State goalkeeper
Taylor Kennedy and the Falcon defense recorded a clean sheet on Sunday afternoon as the women's soccer team battled to a draw with West Liberty at the West Family Complex.

The Falcons faced nine shot attempts on Saturday afternoon, including five on-target attempts that were turned away by the freshman goalkeeper as Kennedy recorded her seventh shutout of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Offensive, the Falcons recorded eight total shots in the game, including two on-target attempts that were turned away by WLU goalkeeper Olivia Montgomery.

Early in the first overtime period, Fairmont State's
Olivia Liston had a great scoring chance in the 92
nd minute that was turned away by Montgomery. Liston's attempt was created off a rebound after her header shot was blocked by the West Liberty defense.

Fairmont's first on-target shot came in the 69
th minute off the foot of freshman
Mackenzie Gillispie, however that shot was also saved by Montgomery.

West Liberty (2-6-4, 2-3-4 MEC) had the best scoring opportunity during the second overtime session when Kennedy recorded her fifth save of the game on a shot attempt by West Liberty's Lexie Mullen.

Fairmont State had a lopsided advantage in corner kicks in the game, holding a 7-1 edge in the category. In fact, West Liberty's first corner kick attempt came in the first overtime period.

Fairmont State (7-4-2, 6-2-2 MEC) will return home on Wednesday evening to host Wheeling University in MEC action. Opening kick if set for 7 p.m. at Duvall-Rosier Field. The Falcons maintain their two-point lead in the MEC's Northern Division following today's draw.
