Notre Dame (22-8) will now advance to Sunday's Championship Game against top-seeded West Liberty. Fairmont State falls to 22-8 and will now wait until Sunday night's selection show to learn its NCAA Tournament fate. The Falcons were No. 4 in this week's NCAA Atlantic Region Rankings.

With Fairmont State leading 24-22 with 6:55 remaining in the opening half, Notre Dame went on a momentum changing 22-5 run over nearly a five minute stretch to take a 44-29 lead with just over two minutes remaining in the first half. However, Fairmont State showed some life late in the half by scoring nine of the final 10 points to cut the margin to just seven at the break, 45-38.

Fairmont State pulled to within five at the 15:40 mark of the second half, but Notre Dame quickly answer with an 8-2 run and allowed the Falcons to pull within single digits just one more time before taking control of the game for good – stretching its lead to as many as 22 late.
