FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State women's volleyball (18-8, 8-4 MEC) starts their month of November tonight when they host Notre Dame College inside Joe Retton at 7 pm. Fairmont ends their week with a short road trip to Alderson Broaddus on Friday night at Rex Pyles Arena.
Over the weekend, the Falcons of Fairmont State earned a five-set victory over the University of Charleston and honored five senior women's volleyball players prior to the contest. The Falcons stormed back to take the final two sets of the match as
Keara Lewis led the way with 17 kills and
Julia DiPaola and
Emma Ludwig chipped in 12 kills each.
Lilianna Keber started the comeback for the Fighting Falcons with 46 total assists and guided seven kills of her own.
On the defensive side of the net, Keber collected 24 digs in the contest with DiPaola notching 18 digs and
Karli Edwards gathering 13 digs as the libero.
Scouting Notre Dame
Notre Dame enters Tuesday night with a 15-12 overall record and 6-6 in Mountain East Conference play. NDC is coming off two straight wins over Concord and Glenville State last week after a setback with West Liberty last Tuesday.
Kelsie Palmer leads the Falcons with 254 total kills and Kaye Dregalla has tallied 207 kills in 26 matches. McKenzie Andrix and Jayme Zoeckler each have guided the attack for NDC with Andrix having 534 assists and Zoeckler following with 405 assists.
On the defensive side of the ball, Amelia Kaeberlein has racked up a team-high 491 digs in 82 sets played and Grace Smotek follows with 298 digs.
Scouting Alderson Broaddus
Alderson Broaddus enters the week with an overall record of 6-13 and 2-10 in MEC play. The Battlers bounced back last Saturday with a four-set victory over Glenville State inside Rex Pyles Arena after defeats by Frostburg State and Concord University.
Jocie Fisher leads the Battlers on the offensive end with 183 total attacks in 19 matches as Schylar Shepherd and Kiley Sparks follow with 147 and 141 kills, respectively. Camille Ashby has contributed 335 assists in 19 matches with Kailtyn Jager being second on the team with 272.
On the defensive side of the ball, Lainey McGonigle has accumulated 318 digs with Ashby and Jager joining in with 130 and 114 respectively.
Fairmont State women's volleyball gets back on the court on Friday, November 5th when they head to Philippi for a matchup with Alderson Broaddus. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. inside Rex Pyles Arena.
