Box Score SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio -- Julia DiPaola and
Keara Lewis each recorded 14 kills to help lead Fairmont State to a 3-1 victory (25-16, 26-28, 25-19, 25-22) over Notre Dame College on Tuesday evening at the Murphy Gymnasium.
With the victory, Fairmont State improves to 5-2 both overall and in the Mountain East Conference. NDC falls to 2-4 on the year.
Fairmont State held a statistical advantage in nearly every category during the victory, including a .156-to-.095 advantage in hitting percentage. The Falcons also had a 9-5 advantage in total blocks and a 7-2 advantage in service aces.
DiPaola, Lewis and
Lilianna Keber each recorded double-doubles for the Falcons in the win. DiPaola finished with 14 kills and 11 digs, Lewis chipped in 14 kills and 14 digs, and Keber had a team-high 37 assists and 24 digs.
Amelia Moore also had a big night on the attack, totaling 10 kills to go with four digs and two blocks.
Emily Cordle and
Taylor Wisniewski led the Falcons around the net with five and three blocks, respectively.
Bryce Knapp (21) and
Kelsey Moeller (10) also recorded double-digit digs for the Falcons – joining Keber, Lewis and DiPaola.
Sarah DeGeorge recorded a double-double to lead NDC with 13 kills and 16 digs. Kelsie Palmer also drove home 11 kills for Notre Dame.
Fairmont State will remain on the road for a 7 p.m. matchup against Alderson Broaddus on Friday evening in Philippi.
