FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The No. 24-ranked Fairmont State men's basketball team dominated Frostburg State in a 109-85 victory on Saturday afternoon inside Joe Retton Arena.

The Falcons shot over 51 percent from the field and had five double-figure scorers, while also limiting Frostburg State to just 37 percent from the field.

Fairmont State had a 19-0 scoring run late in the first half to take complete control of the game, and pushed its lead to as many as 37 at the midway point of the second half. The first half scoring run helped Fairmont take a 52-25 advantage into the locker room.

Fourteen different players tallied points in the win for Fairmont State, including a team-high 26 points and 10 rebounds from
Dale Bonner. Bonner shot 8-of-10 from the field and 5-of-5 from three.
Isaiah Sanders also chipped in 17 points, five rebounds and five steals, while
Cole VonHandorf wrapped up senior day with 15.
Seth Younkin also contributed 12 points and six rebounds, and
Zyon Dobbs came off the bench to score 11.

Prior to Saturday's game, the Falcon men's basketball program honored six seniors for their hard work and dedication to the program. The 2021 seniors include

Donald Kummer,
Kenzie Melko-Marshall,
Steven Solomon,
Cole VonHandorf and
Ilisia Washington.

Agyei Edwards led Frostburg State in the defeat with 29 points and eight rebounds. The Bobcats also got 11 points and five rebounds from Canaan Bartley.

With its 12-4 overall record, Fairmont State has clinched the north division's No. 2 seed in next week's Mountain East Conference Men's Basketball Tournament. The Falcons will open up postseason play on Friday at 8 p.m. against West Virginia State – the No. 3 seed out of the south division.

Frostburg's season comes to an end with a 4-12 overall record on the year.
