FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State avenged an early season loss by sweeping West Liberty on Tuesday evening during senior day at Joe Retton Arena (25-13, 25-18, 26-24). The Falcons recorded a .237 attacking percentage with 43 kills and just 15 errors on the attack.

With the win, Fairmont State moves into sole possession of second place in the MEC North Division with a 7-2 overall record. WLU falls to 6-3 on the season.

Prior to Tuesday's match, Fairmont State senior
Taylor Wisniewski was honored prior to playing her final regular season match at Joe Retton Arena. Wisniewski ended the night with seven kills and five block assists.

The Falcons also got 15 kills and nine digs from
Julia DiPaola and 11 kills, seven digs and three block assists from
Keara Lewis. DiPaola led the Falcons on the attack with a .387 hitting percentage, totaling 15 kills and just three errors in the match.
Amelia Moore also chipped in five kills.

Lilianna Keber led the Fairmont State offense with 37 assists and also tallied three services aces.
Bryce Knapp led Fairmont State defensively with 19 digs.

Fairmont State held narrow advantages in total blocks (6-4) and aces (5-3).

WLU got a team-high seven kills and 13 digs from Emily Reedy. Kaija Sydlowski also recorded six kills.

Fairmont State will wrap up the regular season on Friday evening with a road match at Frostburg State. Start time is set for 7 p.m. at Bobcat Arena.
