FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Falcons dropped a close five-set match (25-21, 25-19, 21-25, 25-27, 15-10) to Shepherd University earlier this week at Joe Retton Arena.
Fairmont State rallied back from an early deficit, winning both the third and fourth sets to even the score. The Rams regained control in the final set, however, securing the 3-2 win on their way to a 10-match win streak.
Junior
Keara Lewis was an offensive force on the court, recording 17 kills for the Falcons. Fellow juniors
Madison Chapman and
Amelia Moore were also impressive, adding 13 and 12 kills, respectively.
Freshman
Karli Edwards served up three aces, while junior
Bryce Knapp posted two in addition to her 26 digs and four assists.
Senior
Lilianna Keber recorded a season high 52 assists on her way to a double-double, finishing the match by adding 20 digs, two blocks and one ace to her name.
Fairmont State's next match will be away on Tuesday, September 28 against the Wheeling University Cardinals.
