ERIE, Pa. – The Fairmont State women's soccer team's historic season concluded in the opening round of the NCAA Atlantic Regional Pod on Friday (Nov. 11). The Fighting Falcons fell to Gannon 3-0 in the NCAA Tournament.

The Knights tallied their first goal minutes before the end of the first half. Holly Gray found the back of the net after connecting on a pass from Jamie Seneca.
Jessica Schneider tallied a shot on goal for Fairmont State in the first half, but Kennedy Solymosi made the save and kept the Falcons off the scoreboard. The Knights led 1-0 after 45 minutes of play.

Leah Bermudez scored to give Gannon a two-goal advantage in the 61
st minute of play.
Mackenzie Gillispie and
Kiera Kuzinski both recorded shots in the 75
th minute. Gannon scored its third goal of the match in the 83
rd minute when Ella Fadale struck a kick into the back of the net.
Taylor Kennedy made six saves in the match. The Falcons did not erase the deficit, and Gannon advanced.

Fairmont State's season included the team's first MEC Tournament Championship after the Falcons edged Frostburg State in penalty kicks. The Falcons reached their first NCAA Tournament in school history.
