Box Score 2 Fairmont, W.Va. - Volleyball had an impressive start to the season going 2-0 on the day at the Fairmont State Volleyball Classic. In their first matchup against Ursuline they were tested in the first set but ended up winning 25-23. After that win they didn't look back as they controlled the next two sets (25-14, 25-16) to sweep Ursuline. Your stat leaders from the first game were

The featured matchup of the day against Walsh University lived up to the hype as it was an instant classic that went 5 sets. Your Falcons battled hard in a back and forth match that saw us come out top in the final set 15-12. It was a great match where there were a ton of great points and rallies. They had a great comeback in set one where they started out a little slow being down 5-0 but came roaring back to outscore Walsh 25-13 to win the set 25-18. Walsh regrouped and won the next two sets 25-22 and 25-20. Your Falcons were up for the challenge as they came together and put on another impressive performance to win set 4 25-23 to force a match deciding fifth set. Again we started off slow but really showed our grit and competitiveness to comeback to tie it up. From there they didn't look back and went on to win 15-12.
