Fairmont State opened at Duvall-Rosier Field against the Falcons of Notre Dame College, where NDC came away with the victory, 1-0. This moves Fairmont State's record to 1-1-1, and Notre Dame improves to 2-1-1.
The game was even for most of the match, as both teams had six shots each during the contest. Kiera Kuzinski led the team with three shots, and Jessica Schneider followed with two shots for Fairmont State.
After halftime, Notre Dame's midfielder, Maridza Desir, launched a shot from around 35 yards out with 37 minutes left in the contest. Unfortunately, the Falcons were unable to recover from the 1-0 Notre Dame lead.
The Fairmont State Falcons will look forward to Wednesday, September 14th, where they will head to Alderson Broaddus to compete.
