BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Fairmont State (1-8) baseball fell in a doubleheader at Bloomsburg (3-5) on Saturday (March 4) in Bloomsburg, Pa.

Game One – Bloomsburg 6, Fairmont State 1
The Huskies plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a two-run home run. Bloomsburg tacked on two more runs in the second with a two-RBI base hit and led 4-0 after two. The Falcons were retired in order in the third and fourth innings. BU extended its lead to six after a single and a sacrifice fly. Fairmont State got on the board in the top of the fifth inning after
Cade Sikoski drove in
Ryan Goff on an RBI single to left field. The Huskies claimed game one, 6-1.

Armstrong went 2-for-3 at the plate and Sikoski and
Alex Tennant both added hits for the Fairmont State offense.
Connor Cramer struck out four batters in three innings of work and
Gordon Swiger punched out three in three innings.

Game Two – Bloomsburg 9, Fairmont State 7
Freshman
Hudson Smith drove a base hit up the middle to start the top of the third inning. Sikoski moved him over with a SAC bunt and Smith advanced to third on a dropped third strike. He scored after a Bloomsburg wild pitch and the Falcons manufactured the game's first run.

The Huskies evened the score in the bottom half of the second after a walk, a single and a base hit up the middle. Fairmont State went back in front when Goff smacked a double to right center and
Alex Perez knocked him in with a base hit up the middle. BU countered with a pair of runs in the fourth to go ahead 3-2. The Huskies had a big inning in the bottom of the 5
th and scored six runs and controlled a 9-2 lead.
Perez scored Goff on a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth to cut the margin to six. The Falcons rallied in the top of the seventh with two outs.
Isaac Miller got the rally started with a pinch-hit knock.
Connor Bailey kept it rolling with a hit to put runners at the corners. Tennant doubled down the left field line and scored Miller to make the score 9-4.
Noah Canterbury continued the inning with the Falcons' fourth-straight hit and plated Bailey to put the Falcons within four runs. After a Goff walk, Perez drove in his third run of the afternoon with a knock and the Falcons trailed 9-6.
Drew Hogue walked and scored Tennant with the bases full and the tying run was on second base. The Falcons' comeback fell short and the Huskies got the final out.
