Page Has Career Day as Football Cruises Past West Virginia Wesleyan

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont State defeated West Virginia Wesleyan 45-10 on Saturday at Duvall-Rosier Field. Fairmont State's offense was led by a strong passing game, totaling 325 yards and four touchdowns, including a 63-yard pass. The defense held firm, blocking a field goal attempt and tallying two sacks. The win was sealed by a dominant first half, with Fairmont State scoring 35 points before halftime.

Fairmont State opened the game with a decisive drive, highlighted by Nino Marzullo's 63-yard touchdown pass to Leonard Farrow, quickly putting the home team ahead. Emmanuel Richardson's extra point extended the lead to 7-0. The defense held strong, forcing West Virginia Wesleyan into a series of short gains and an eventual punt.

On the second drive, the Falcons capitalized again with Marzullo connecting on a 57-yard pass to Winston Page, setting up his own 1-yard rushing touchdown. The successful extra point increased the lead to 14-0. As the quarter concluded, the Falcons maintained their lead, effectively containing the Bobcats' advances.

The Falcons entered the fourth quarter with a strong defensive play, as Gavin Smith broke up a pass attempt by the Bobcats' Jaylen Bragg, followed by Tyrees Smith's quarterback hurry. Despite this initial defensive stand, the Bobcats completed a 24-yard touchdown pass to narrow the gap. The score was 42-10 following the successful extra point.

On the ensuing possession, Fairmont State maintained control with a steady ground game, highlighted by runs from James Borbor and Jerome Lee Jr., which set the stage for an eventual 28-yard field goal by Richardson. A late defensive effort by Fairmont State, including a sack by Nemo Roberts, held the Bobcats scoreless in their final drive. The game concluded with Fairmont State kneeling out the clock, securing a decisive 45-10 victory.

Marzullo delivered a standout performance, completing 14 of 19 passes for 325 yards and four touchdowns. Farrow contributed significantly with 56 rushing yards on seven attempts and added a 63-yard touchdown reception. Page was a key target, securing five catches for 143 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive side, Roberts made a notable impact with six total tackles and two sacks.

Fairmont State (3-3, 1-3) hits the road for a non-conference game against Edinboro University on Saturday, October 18. Kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m.
