Men's Golf Currently Fourth at MEC Championship as Young sits Tied for Eighth

DANIELS, W.Va. — Fairmont State University's men's golf team currently sits in fourth-place at the 2025 MEC Men's Golf Championship after Round 1, with Caleb Young leading the Falcons, who is tied for eighth with a 2-over-par 74 at The Resort at Glade Springs.

Caleb Young paced the Falcons with a strong showing, tying for 8th place after carding a 74 (+2) in the first round. 

Colby Bent is in a tie for 17th, posting a 77 (+5) in the opening round. Ben Ritenour sits in 20th place with a score of 78 (+6) in the first round. 

Parker Conover ended the round tied for 21st, scoring a 79 (+7). Nik Tomblin is tied for 28th with an opening round of 80 (+8).

Wheeling leads the team standings at +9, followed by Charleston (+13) and Glenville State (+19). Charleston's Joan Panisello and Point Park's Milo Thim share the individual lead after matching 2-under-par 70s.

The championship continues Tuesday with the second round of the 54-hole event on the par-72 Glade Springs course.
