Borelle and Skinn Highlight All-Conference Awards for Volleyball

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced the 2025 Volleyball individual award-winners and all-conference teams on Wednesday afternoon. The top honors and All-MEC teams were chosen by a vote of league head coaches.

Joey Borelle and Josie Skinn highlighted the awards for Fairmont State. Borelle was named the MEC Player of the Year while Skinn earned MEC Libero of the Year for the second-straight season. Both also earned All-MEC First Team Honors. Josie Nobbe was named to the All-MEC Second Team as Alexa Martin received All-MEC Honorable Mention. McKenzi Martin was one of six freshman that made the All-MEC Freshman Team

Borelle Player of the Year 2025

Borelle, a senior from Norton, Ohio, enters this week's MEC Tournament leading the league in kills, kills per set, points, and points per set. A two-time MEC Offensive Player of the Week this season, Borelle is tied for No. 29 nationally in kills per set, ranks eighth in the MEC in digs per set, and her 19 kills in three sets against Texas A&M International were tops in the league this season.

New Skinn Libero of the Year 2025

Skinn, a senior from Norwalk, Ohio, is a two-time MEC Defensive Player of the Week this season who helped lead the Falcons to a share of the MEC North Division title. Skinn enters tournament play averaging 5.54 digs per set, which leads the MEC and is ranked No. 11 nationally. She recorded 40 digs in a match against West Virginia State, the top performance in that category this season.

Nobbe All-MEC Second Team 2025

Nobbe, a junior from Greensburg, Indiana, collected All-MEC honors for the second-straight season. She is second on the team in kills (292) and third in blocks (77.0)

Alexa Martin All-MEC 2025

Alexa Martin, a junior from Bridgeport, West Viginia, earned All-MEC recognition for the first time in her career. Through the season she leads the team with 127 blocks with 123 kills on the offensive side.

McKenzi Martin All-MEC 2025

McKenzi Martin, a freshman from Weirton, West Virginia, is third on the team with 229 kills while also totaling 99 digs and 25 blocks.

Fairmont State will face West Virginia State University on Thursday, November 20 in the MEC Quarterfinals in Buckhannon, West Virginia. Start time is set for 7:30 p.m.
