BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — The Mountain East Conference announced Monday the winners of this week's Volleyball Player of the Week awards. The MEC Player of the Week awards are presented by The Health Plan.
Fairmont State's
Joey Borelle repeated as the MEC Offensive Player of the Week. Borelle, a senior from Norton, Ohio, was a Rattler Invitational All-Tournament team selection after helping the Falcons to a 3-2 week. Fairmont State's only losses were to #4 Central Oklahoma (9-0) and Florida Southern (5-1). Borelle, who shared MEC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Sept. 8, had 77 kills in five games, including 22 in a 3-1 win against Walsh.
The volleyball team is back in action on Friday, September 19 for the Atlantic Crossover hosted by Wheeling University. The Falcons will face #19 Gannon University at 1:00 p.m. before taking on Shippensburg University at 6:30 p.m.
