FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- The Fairmont State University men's wrestling team was voted third in the Mountain East Conference preseason poll following a vote of the league's eight head coaches, the league announced on Friday.
The Falcons finished the 2025-26 season by placing fourth at the Mountain East Conference Championship while placing eighth at the NCAA DII Super Region 1. The team returns three All-MEC wrestlers:
Trace Ragland,
Josh Woyan and
Cooper Durst.
Glenville State received seven out of the eight total first-place votes, the maximum allowed since league head coaches cannot vote for their own team. West Liberty University was selected as the preseason favorite runner-up, earning one first-place vote and 43 points.
The poll was rounded out by Frostburg State University, Wheeling University, Salem University, Davis & Elkins College and Point Park University.
